A memorial service for Curtis Wevley will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck, Minnesota, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Curtis “Curt” was born in Morris, Minnesota, on April 24, 1960, to Raymond and Esther (Thompson) Wevley. He grew up north of Morris on Highway 59. He attended school in Morris before moving away. After several years, he moved back to the area. He was a welder by day at Wilkens Industries and a farmer by night, taking care of the land and many animals on the hobby farm.
Curt married his best friend, Marie Lonneman, at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 5, 2001. He immediately became a dad to Mike, Marie's son. On December 31, 2002, their family of three turned into a family of four when their daughter, Amanda, was born.
Curt was a devoted husband and loving father. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. He supported his children in their endeavors. You could always find him outside tinkering away, anything from wood to grease. When his parents were alive, he enjoyed gardening with his mom and farming with his dad. Patsy Cline and other older country music were his favorites, along with John Wayne movies. He loved the outdoors.
Curt always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a helping hand to others. He knew how to make people laugh and could brighten any room. He lived to glorify the Lord and was a deacon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Curt passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was 64 years old.
Curt is survived by his wife, Marie Wevley, Starbuck, MN; two children: Mike (Jenny) Anderson, Victoria, MN; and Amanda Wevley (significant other, Justin), Morris, MN; and a grandchild, Jaxon Anderson. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Esther Wevley.
