Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Custer Back Sr. and Anna Dean Back, and by his sister, Janice Back.
He is survived by his children, Custer "Trey" Back III and his wife, Chelsie, and Chelsea Rhea Jones and her husband, Quintin; his former spouse, Debbie Back; his sister, Susan Blankenship; and his six beloved grandchildren, Melody, Judah, Sadie, Rylie, Harmony, and Emmie.
Butch was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in his work. Early in his career, he owned and operated a construction company alongside his father, where they built homes together. He later spent more than a decade working for Heery International, contributing to the construction of courthouses and large industrial projects throughout the East Coast. His craftsmanship, work ethic, and commitment to providing for his family were hallmarks of his life.
Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mr. Back at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home.
