Cynthia Akerly

Cynthia L. Akerly, age 62, of Harborcreek, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in Erie on September 10, 1962, daughter of the late Norman and Linda Akerly.
Cindy was a 1979 graduate of Harbor Creek High School. She began her career at Bogie's Tavern and later spent 15 years with JTM Foods before becoming a supervisor at Better Baked Foods, where she worked for more than 20 years. Cindy had a love for cooking and baking, and she enjoyed traveling, bargain shopping, and dining at the Cheesecake Factory. She had a natural green thumb and took pride in caring for her many indoor plants. Friday nights were often reserved for outings with her friends from work, a tradition she cherished. Above all, Cindy treasured her role as a grandmother. She never missed a chance to support her grandchildren, especially at their sporting events.
Cindy is survived by two children, James Cornman III (Dawn) and Jamie Cornman; one brother, Robert Akerly; three grandchildren, Braydon Cornman, Taylor May (Tyler) and Alizabeth Milner; one great-grandson, River James; and several nieces and nephews.
