Jeanerette, LA – A home-going celebration of life for Cynthia Jaqueline Alexander 60, the former Cynthia Jacqueline Greene, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church (835 Monnot Road) with Pastor Rickey E. Carter, officiating.
Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (Hubertville Road) in Jeanerette, LA.
Visitation hours observed at First Jerusalem Baptist Church on Saturday, April 27, 2024, beginning at 8:00 A.M. until the time the service with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Burial Ritual at 12:00P.M.
Cynthia Jaqueline-Greene Alexander transitioned from her earthly life at 2:15 P.M. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette, LA surrounded by her family.
She graduated from Jeanerette High School in 1982. She obtained a bachelor of science degree in fashion merchandise from Nicholls State University and early childhood development from the former University of Southwestern Louisiana (currently University of Louisiana at Lafayette), as well as a certification in phlebotomy from Academy of Acadiana. She was initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in 1984 at Nicholls State University. She served as an early childhood educator for 30+ years.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 24 years, Arthur L. Alexander; one son: Kaleb (Alexis) Alexander; one daughter: Kiristen Charles; one sister: Tierney Greene; one granddaughter: Alaia Leigh-Ann Alexander; two goddaughters ("her babies"), Kaitlyn Marks and Amare Landry; one aunt, Bernice Coleman; three brothers- in-law, Jospeh (Flonetta) Alexander, Jr., Darryl Alexander, Sr., Christopher(Alondra)Alexander, Sr.; five sisters-in-law, Minerva Rener, Regina (Stanford) Ceaser, Christine (Byron) Landry, Sharon Lambert of Gonzales, LA, and Cynthia R. Alexander of Jeanerette, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Estelle Coleman Greene; maternal grandparents: Clarence and Emily Coleman; paternal grandparents: Jack Sr. and Agnes Greene; mother-in-law: Gloria Alexander; father-in-law: Joseph Alexander, Sr; two brothers-in-law: Randy Alexander and Fredrick Alexander, Sr.
Active pallbearers are Henry Tibbs, Clarence Coleman, III., Byron Landry, Stanford Ceaser, I., Marcus Joseph, Jermaine Eugene, Christopher Smith, and Douglas Greene, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Associate Ministers of First Jerusalem Baptist Church, Ronnie Bernard, Chett Bernard, Michael Coleman, Joseph Alexander, Jr., Christopher Alexander, Sr., Darryl Alexander, Sr., Kaleb Alexander, Rev. Ferris Martin, and Joey Greene.
