Cynthia Austin, affectionately known as "Cindy" was born in Baltimore MD the 7th child of the late Raymond Eugene Austin, Sr. and Dorothy Byrd. Cindy was a devoted Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of the Lord. She attended Christian Temple Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD until she could no longer go and then took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over her.
Cindy attended Baltimore City Public Schools from elementary to high school where she received her High School Diploma. Cindy began her employment in the Enoch Pratt Library system, fostering her love for reading. She later became gainfully employed with the University of Maryland Medical System as a Housekeeping Supervisor. Cindy later took that knowledge and expertise from that position down the street to Social Security building where she was a Manager for the Chimes until her retirement.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mom and dad Raymond Austin, Sr. and Dorothy Byrd; her stepdad James Frank Byrd; her sister Virginia; her brothers Larry, Leo, Ronald and Preston; her 3 nephews Guy, Larry, and Ricco all of whom she knew would be waiting for her in Heaven with open arms. Cindy is survived by her brother Raymond; her nephew Raymond; her nieces Alanna, Donise, and Sharawn. Cindy also leaves to mourn a host of Great and Great Great-Nieces and Nephews and hundreds of friends and extended family.
Cindy was more than just an aunt; she was the life of the party, especially if you were playing cards, she was the spark that ignited joy in the hearts of many. Cindy would help anyone in need and if she couldn't help you, she had no problem volunteering someone else to do it. Cindy loved animals just as much as she loved people and although she threatened to put her cat "Sandy" out every day we all knew that cat wasn't going nowhere, and she will miss her too.
