Cynthia Blanton Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 29, 2024.
FORT WORTH - Cynthia Shobe Blanton, age 64, passed away suddenly in her family home on December 20, 2024.
Services: 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel at 3100 White Settlement Road in Fort Worth, Texas, 76107. Visitation will occur one hour prior to service, with interment to follow.
Cynthia was born on June 20, 1960, to parents, Donna Baker Shobe and Clinton Leroy Shobe, in Fort Worth, Texas; she was raised there with her older brother, Mark. She loved her family very much, and especially adored her mother with her whole heart. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Cindy excelled in everything she did, and was a straight A student in grades K through 12. Later, she went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington's College of Business with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, earning her place at the top of her graduating class. At her graduation, she was honored by the college as they read her long list of accomplishments and presented her with the key to the City of Arlington. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
With her degree, Cindy worked hard and successfully for a number of metroplex firms, each bringing her into increasing positions of responsibility. In 1991, she was hired by General Dynamics-Fort Worth Division to work proposals and contracts. At age 38, she met and married the love of her life, Harry Blanton, and the two lived happily together for 26 years. She retired at the age of 55 to be at home.
Her hobbies included shopping, fashion, traveling, going on cruises, the beach, and enjoying the company of her pet dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; her brother, Mark, and wife, Linda; their daughter, Linsey; their son, Taylor; and their children, Peyton, Hayden, Reed, and Diana.
"I Wish
I wish Cindy were here to see us gathered around to say goodbye
I wish Cindy were here to tell us not to cry
I wish I could have told her again how much all her love meant to me
I wish she could have helped me through another crisis, or three
All these things and more I wish, but do not have the words to say
How much I wish, I wish, I wish she were still alive today"

Harry, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and Cindy's family. Cindy and I connected through our love of travel and animals. She was a joy to work with and we shared many happy travel memories when not working. She will be greatly missed.
