Cynthia "Becky" Rebecca (Russell) Capps was born August 24, 1942, in Dent County, Missouri. She was one of two daughters born to Paul and Mildred (Redwine) Russell. Becky grew up and attended school in Salem.
At the age of seventeen, on November 7, 1959, Becky was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Glenn Capps. They shared fifty-five years of lasting memories before his passing May 25, 2015. Becky and David were blessed with three children: Greg, Steven, and Candace.
Becky later furthered her education obtaining her cosmetology license. As a talented cosmetologist, she brought beauty and joy to her clients. Throughout the years, Becky worked at several hair salons and continued to cut hair until she was in her late sixties.
Becky was family oriented and enjoyed working alongside her husband at Capps Music Store from 1976 until the doors closed in 2000. She liked music and was a gifted piano player.
Becky loved to cook for her family and truly loved following celebrity cooks. She was an avid Pioneer Woman fan and could be found watching her cooking shows. In her spare time, she enjoyed looking through cookbooks and reading. Becky possessed skilled hands that brought beauty to countless garments. She poured her heart into her sewing work and her dedication shone through every stitch.
Her faith, family, and friends were most important to her. She treasured her three grandsons and adored her great-grandchildren. Becky was a lady of great faith and longtime member of the Second Baptist Church in Salem. Over the last few years, when her health allowed, she attended New Home Baptist Church.
Becky entered eternal rest October 9, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving children: Greg Capps and wife Jean of Salem, MO, Steven Capps and wife Jill of Jadwin, MO, and Candace Capps and special friend Tom Woods of Salem, MO; sister: Paula Johns and husband Larry of Rogers, AR; grandchildren: Bryan Capps and wife Whiney, Brett Capps, and Clint Capps and wife Kayla; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Lorie, Larry, Shericia, Michelle, and Chris; as well as several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death, husband: David Capps; parents: Paul and Mildred Russell; and brother-in-law: Fred Capps and wife Myrnetta.
Becky leaves a void in the lives of all who knew and love her. She leaves a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness that will forever remain. Becky will be deeply missed.
