Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Carmichael, born May 25, 1964, went home to the Lord on June 23, 2025. Forever the life of the party, there is no doubt that Jesus and all the choirs of angels welcomed her. Cindy was born to Pat Carmichael and Linda Cobb in Cuthbert, GA. Although she was the youngest in birth order, she took great pride in looking after her older siblings, Cathy and Mike. She spent her early years in Blakely, GA, enjoying time outside, anywhere near water, playing sports, and making friends.
Cindy went on to study Business Management at Valdosta State University, a place where she made lifelong friendships and a lifetime of memories. Cindy was smart and witty, often beating her older sister in their daily Wordle and NYT challenges. Cindy’s sense of humor was legendary, and there is no doubt she’s giving all of the angels a run for their money up there. She was artistic and creative, often drawing original art for birthday cards and notes. She was a thoughtful and sincere person whom animals immediately trusted, and people were naturally drawn to. Cindy had the rare ability to be at peace with the quiet, and she appreciated the serenity of farm life and nature.
Cindy was a devoted daughter, caring for her Pop and her life partner, Johnny, for many years. The love of her life was Johnny Isler, and she was probably happiest to be reunited with him. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Cindy was a dedicated and valued member of the Early County community, serving as a Probate Court Clerk at the Early County Probate Court. She was a faithful employee, working nearly up until her final days on earth, and she had an incredible work ethic. Her commitment to her work and her community was evident in all she did. Throughout her career, she chose to serve the public with integrity and dedication, and her courthouse friends will always hold a special place in her heart.
Cindy is preceded in death by her Granny (Alma), her grandmother (Etta), her stepdad (Ed), and her fiancé (Johnny). Although she was tiny, she leaves a big hole behind in the hearts of her parents, Pat Carmichael and Linda Cobb, her adoring siblings, Cathy and Mike, and her niece and nephew, whom she spoiled beyond repair, Kelsey and Jake. She was the best fur mom to Tater and a whole gaggle of farm cats.
Cindy was effervescent in personality, sparkling in humor and intelligence, and selfless with every ounce of her being. We will forever celebrate the time we had with her, “because the party wouldn't have been complete without her.”
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 9:30 am. Both services will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, where arrangements have been thoughtfully provided. The family also wishes to thank Ms. Mavis Bradley for her dedication to Cindy in her final days.
