Obituary For Cynthia Ann Carter Jackson
Mrs. Cynthia Ann (Carter) Jackson, aged 60, of LaFayette, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, after bravely battling breast cancer for 16 years. She was born on October 3, 1963, in Uhrichsville, Ohio, and was the daughter of Barbara Carter, who passed away in 2012, and Leslie Carter, who left us in 1985.
Cynthia proudly graduated from Claymont High School in 1981, where she played a vital role as the center for the girls' basketball State Championship team. She, along with her team, was inducted into the Tuscarawas County Hall of Fame in 2022, a memory she cherished dearly. Cynthia went on to earn her Masters in Business Administration from Malone University.
A woman of unwavering faith, Cynthia attended her childhood church, St. John Worship & Praise Community Church in Uhrichsville, Ohio. She served as the Worship and Praise Gospel choir director for many years, intermittently leading the choir when she was in the area.
Cynthia dedicated over 20 years of her professional life to Human Resources and most recently at Shaw Industries in Dalton, Georgia, where she used her expertise to enhance the employee experience throughout the organization. She brought knowledge, joy, and light to every interaction with her colleagues.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Pastor Archie E. Jackson of Lafayette, Georgia, her daughters Chentelle (Chris) Lane, Cheena Jackson, Chealyn (Ashley) Jackson, and Tyera Jackson, as well as her siblings Leslie (JoAnn) Carter, Brian Carter, Violet (Albert) Harris, and Jay (Lori Clauser) Carter.
Cynthia's eight grandchildren held a special place in her heart and soul: Dre'Shaun Jackson, Ava Garner, Alana Garner, Aziah Lane, Mayze Lane, Cruze Lane, Storm Jackson, and Jayde Jackson. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, who considered her a second mother in so many ways. She took immense pride in each and every one of them.
Additionally, she is survived by her mother-in-law, Carolyn Jackson, a cherished niece, Octavia Jackson, and her brother-in-law, Nick Jackson, sister-in-law, Anita (Rick) Joseph, along with other beloved extended family members.
A homegoing service in Cynthia's honor will take place at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Shaw Industries and Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving care and unwavering support during Cynthia's illness.
Well done, Cynthia, Welcome Home!
Homegoing Celebration will be forthcoming by Uhrich – Hosteller English Funeral Home, Inc., 634 N. Water Street, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683 -1454, Phone (740) 922-3153.

A few crowns for this wonderful gal. So gracious, and beautiful, inside and out. So sorry for the family, as you lose such a gift that was Cynthia. Faithful, and true. May His grace reign, and our assurance in the Rock.

The first time I met Cynthia it was like we already knew each other. I admire how she stood by her husband and her family. Another Angel gone too soon. Until we meet again

Cynthia. I have a treasure of memories from our friendship in our teenage years. You were always graceful , beautiful smile, and you sure could dance. I will never forget when I bought a instant polarized camera. You stood by the Tree!!! I just blurted out - you are close as tall as the tree! We couldn't stop laughing. Also our bus ride to Georgia. Now that I will never forget! Fun times! I pray Angels will surround Jay & Lori & comfort your entire family. Simply the Best! Love Sally, & Scotty

Dear Family,

There are no words to express how deeply sorry I am (both of us) for your loss. Cynthia was a friend, like family to me since forever! All the way back that I can remember from Sunday School, to Sunday school and church outings. Not to forget four years cheering for the State Champions Claymont Girls Basketball Team!
I always looked up to her from her intelligence, style, and the way she carried herself through life! There are many many more memories I will treasure! I am so happy she remained in touch. She will be missed dearly
Our condolences to the entire family from both Rick and I
