Cynthia, affectionately known as “Cookie”, accepted Christ and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of New Iberia, Louisiana. She was a resident of Cade, Louisiana and previously worked in retail and insurance sales. Anyone who knew Cookie knew that she was incredibly kind-hearted. She was active and caring and spent most of her life going beyond the extreme to help others.
Cookie always surrounded herself with family and friends, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved. She had a bright and energetic personality and an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She had an immense passion for work, traveling dancing, and playing cards. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. But most of all she was well known for her “infectious smile” that surpassed everything in this universe. She will always be remembered for that One of a Kind Smile that would uplift anyone’s day or demeanor, which is eternally unforgettable.
Cookie’s life will be forever etched in the hearts of her 6 sons, Dion Polk (Latoya), Dawon Polk, Douglas Polk, Jr., Tyson Vital (Jennifer), Titus Polk (Jessica), and Grayling Vital (Alicia); father, John Augustine, Jr. (Frankie); mother, Flora Curry Lewis; 2 sisters; Debbie Augustine and Unrinces Edwards, 5 brothers; Renairja Lewis, Kevin Augustine (Althea), Rodney Simon, Eric Williams, Michael Augustine (Quin); 20 grand-children; Malik, Alaija, Taniyah, Elijah, Taj, Zakiah, Nyla, Braxton, Dream, Giselle, Jazzlin, Marquette, Peyton, Carter, London, Isabella, Jaslynn, Claire, Quinnyji, and Jaymien; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends.
