Cynthia Kimball Obituary

Cynthia J. (McLean) Kimball
Born: August 24, 1954 in Elgin, IL
Died: August 31, 2025 in Crystal Lake, IL
Cynthia J. (McLean) Kimball, 71, of Crystal Lake, passed away on August 31, 2025.
She was born on August 24, 1954, in Elgin to Hugh and Elizabeth (Bainbridge) McLean and grew up in Crystal Lake. Cynthia graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School and later attended McHenry County College. She worked for many years at JP Morgan Chase.
Cynthia met John Kimball at the Bowlway Lanes in Elgin and they were married for 47 years before his passing in 2022. They especially enjoyed camping, trips to Florida and England, visiting antique sales, and time with their beloved dogs and cats. At home, they found joy in simple pleasures like watching old television shows together.
She will be remembered as fun-loving, generous, and especially thoughtful toward her nieces and nephews. Cynthia had many friends and loved spending time outdoors. She courageously battled Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years, which gradually limited her ability to do the things she loved, but never dimmed her spirit.
Survivors include her sisters, Debbie (Ted) Groat and Pam (the late Ken) Miller; her brother-in-law, Jim Kimball; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Hugh and Elizabeth; and her brother, Craig McLean.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.

Cindy and I were classmates at Central School and Central HS. Cindy was kind, bright, fun and always a good friend. I remember, I think it was in fifth grade, Cindy was the fastest runner of all the girls in Gym class. I wished I could run so fast. My sincere condolences to her family and friends with love.

I went to school with Cindy from grades 1 - 12. She seemed so shy but she had a wicked sense of humor. Sad to learn she had such obstacles in her life.
