Cynthia Anne Leyton, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Born January 25, 1960, in Washington, DC, daughter of Vernon and June (Bruce) Mills. She grew up in Riverdale, MD and lived in Laurel since 1989. For 21 years, she worked at the University of Maryland, College Park until retiring in January 2024. Cyndi was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going on vacations, scrapbooking, and loved to go shopping.
Cyndi is survived by her husband of 41 years, Pedro Leyton. She had 3 daughters, Kristen Murray (Fred), Nicole Shahraky (Armin), and Kayla Leyton, her four grandchildren Payton, Matthew, Isabella, and Sophia, brother Robert Mills (Ana), and Aunt Mary Lescak (Milt). Cyndi was preceded in death by her late father, Vernon Mills, mother June Mills.
Visitations will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, MD 20707, on Thursday, May 9th from 2pm-4pm and from 6pm-8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 10th at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church (114 St. Mary's Place Laurel, MD 20707) at 11am. The burial will be held at Maryland National Memorial Park immediately following the mass (13300 Baltimore Ave. Laurel, MD 20707). Relatives and friends are welcome to the repast held at the Leyton's home following the burial.
