Cynthia Wiswall Litchfield, 78, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025 in Hampton, NH, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on May 1, 1947 in Winchester, Mass, to the late James and Marion (North) Wiswall, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Known for her constant smile and warm heart, she dedicated her life to her family, teaching, and she was loved by all that knew her. Cynthia was raised in Wakefield, Mass, and was educated at Cushing Academy, where she met her late husband Bryan. She continued her education at UNH, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in education 1969, then went on to earn her Master’s degree at Lesley University.
Cynthia was known for her passion for her family, friends, her labradors, cooking, quilting, spending time in Maine with her family and friends, gardening, teaching, and shopping! Cynthia taught in the Hampton School District for 30+ years and touched many lives of the students she taught. She always had a warm embrace and provided unwavering love and support to everyone she knew. Her legacy of love and grace will forever inspire those who knew her.
She is survived by her two children, her son Bryan Litchfield and his wife Gretchen, and her daughter Katherine Sisneroz and her husband Ben; her three adored grandchildren, Benjamin, Bryan, and Addison; Her sister, Debora Woollacott her husband Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Cynthia was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Bryan Litchfield; her partner of 23 years, Jerry Staggs; and her sister, Andrea Whitmer.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, at 1:00pm at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hobbs House Food Pantry, Hobbs House, 200 High Street Hampton, NH in her name.
The family is requesting that for those who are attending the services, to please wear bright colors as this truly is a celebration of her life.
