Cynthia Elaine Owens-Moore was born October 30, 1958, in the Bronx, New York. She is the second child born to the union of Luella Burns Owens and the late James E. Owens. Raised in East Elmhurst New York, She was introduced to the Lord while a member of First Baptist Church, where she worshiped for over 25 years. Cynthia received her childhood education in the private school system of NY. In 1976, she graduated from Martin Luther High School. After high school Cynthia attended Wayne State University and later Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus. She put her education on hiatus and joined the workforce working with NYC Housing Authority, Solomon Brothers and eventually New Jersey City University. On June 1, 1991 Cynthia was joined in holy matrimony, to the love of her life Victor C. Moore. After becoming one, they relocated to New Jersey where they would spend the next 18 years as a loving and devoted couple. In 2006 she became a member of The Metropolitan Baptist Church where she remained active. Affectionately known as "Cyd" and "Auntie," she loved bringing family and friends together for any occasion. She believed in celebrating life and no one would ever question her reasons for bringing everyone together, they would just come! Cynthia was an avid collector of dolls. She collected all different types from anywhere and everywhere giving each a loving home. She had recently decided to complete her education and had returned to school at Union County College. On Saturday December 12, 2009, Cynthia was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord. Left to cherish her caring and loving memory are her loving Husband Victor, Mother Luella Owens, mother-in-law Pecola Allen, Father- in-law Connie Allen, Sister Sharon D. Owens-Boykin, Brother James A. Owens, Brothers-in-law James Boykin, Gil Jones and Willie Gillyard, Sisters-in-law Charlotte Narvaez, Tonya Allen and Tami Jones. Aunts VonBeulah Rogers, Mary Frances McKenzie, Janette Micheau and Celestine Staton. Uncles Leroy Burns, Wesley Burns, Joe Micheau and Vernon McKenzie. Nephews Michael J. Boykin and Errol Narvaez. Nieces Michele E. Boykin (Goddaughter), DeNaya Allen, Great Niece Tania-Michele Jocelyn Boykin, Godson Naji McClary and a host of other loving family members, friends and others.
