Cynthia Pauline Bowers Wooten

Yadkinville - Cynthia Pauline Bowers Wooten, 91, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Known to her family and friends as Nana or Polly, she was born June 22, 1934, in Wilkes County to William and Augusta Spicer Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brothers, Robert and James, brothers Claude, Ralph, Walter, George, and Edward, and sister Anna Lou Gambill.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Sanford Wooten. Children Joanna Wooten, Mary Wooten Joyner (Keith), and Tim Wooten. Grandchildren Emily Joyner Norman (Michael), Leah Shore Amos (Allen), Katlyn Joyner, Caroline Shore (Nick Fontaine), Will Wooten (Jennifer), and John Wooten (Breanna). Great-grandchildren Isaac and Liam Norman, Cora and Amelia Amos, Miles Wooten, and Elizabeth Wooten.

Nana was a faithful member of Branon Friends Meeting and attended as long as her health permitted. She served the church in numerous roles and was known lovingly in her church family for her delicious pound cakes.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Branon Friends Meeting with the Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017 with the specified designation of Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home or SECU Hospice Care Center.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Mrs. Jamie Cave, for the excellent care provided for their Nana.
