Cynthia M Porter, ( Cindy Porter, Coach Porter), 67 passed away on October 18,2025, at home surrounded by her family and her beloved pets in Glob, Arizona. Cindy was born in Boulder City, Nevada on October 27, 1957, to James and Marilyn Porter. At age 10, the family moved to Buckeye, Arizona where Cindy attended Buckeye Elementary and Buckeye High School where she excelled in tennis. Cindy graduated from Buckeye High in 1976 and then attended the University of Arizona where she played Volleyball and field hockey for the university while earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education and graduating in 1981.
She began her teaching career at Liberty Elementary in Buckeye. Her Final 23 years were spent at Royal Palm middle School in Phoenix. Cindy was more than a teacher. She worked magic with kids, she got to know each student and taught life lesson ~ kindness, compassion, love, respect for yourself and others. Porter was a life changer. One of her greatest joys at Royal Palm was the autism PE program that she built from the ground up.
Cindy is survived by her wife, Jodi Salcido of Globe, son Will Salcido (Bonnie) of Utah, and daughter Kambrell Salcido (Esteban) of Globe, sister Cathy Calvert (Alan) of Buckeye, brother Ken Porter (Dorothy) of Goodyear, sister-in-law Rejeania Porter of Washington and cousin Lynn MacFarlane of Utah. Cindy also Leaves behind numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Cindy was predeceased by her parents James and Marilyn Porter and brother, Jimmy Porter.
A Celebration of Life is planned on Friday November 14, 2025, from 5-7 pm at Living Waters Church in the Gathering Room~ 125 East Haskins Road, Globe, Az 85501.
A Celebration of life is planned on Sunday November 16, 2025, from 3-5 pm at Royal Palm Middle School~ 8520 N 19th Ave, Phoenix, Az 85201
A scholarship fund in Porter's name will be set up later to assist students from Royal Palm, Globe High School and Miami High School.
