Cynthia Nicole PORTER

Cynthia Nicole Porter, age 50, of Warren, Ohio, departed this life Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 10:36 a.m. at Mercy Health St. Joseph Hospital, following complications from an extended illness.

She was born June 22, 1975 in Warren, OH, the daughter of Algen Kenneth Daniels and Mattie Thompson Vail Freeman and raised by Jerry David Vail Sr.

Cynthia was a devoted Housewife. She was a 1993 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, receiving her certification as an LPN and attended Ohio State University.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir and enjoyed reading, watching scary movies and baking.

She married John Douglas Porter Jr. May 16, 1998, he died November 7, 2016.

She leaves to mourn one son, Joubert Porter of Warren, OH; one daughter, Mrs. Cynthia Nicole Porter (Derek Jr.) Flanagan of Warren; her mother, Mrs. Mattie Vail Freeman and stepfather, Joseph Freeman both of Warren; three brothers, LeShun D. (Alicia) Daniels Sr. of Waldorf, MD, Jerry D. Vail Jr. of Warren and Algen Jackson of Rochester, NY; four sisters, Mrs. Stacey Vail Poole and Ms. Renee Vail both of Columbus, Mrs. Lisa (Keith) Burgess of Cleveland and Ms. Yvette Patterson of Warren; father-in-law, John Porter Sr. of Warren; sister-in-law, Ms. Angela Porter of Warren; brother-in-law, Juan (Nakita) Porter of Buford, GA; a special cousin, Mrs. Mattie (Gordon II) Franklin of Warren; Godmother, Ms. Cynthia Cayson, of Warren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her fathers, Algen K. Daniels and Jerry D. Vail Sr.; one brother, Dana Russell; one sister, Wanda Nix; one grandson, Angel John Douglas Flanagan; grandparents, Jim and Fannie Thompson, Gladys and Arthur Daniels and Madeline Vail and mother-in-law, Mary Porter.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church; with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
