Cynthia Louise "Cindy" Rhoads

Cynthia L. "Cindy" Rhoads, 64, of rural Perry, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born January 18, 1958 in Topeka, the daughter of Ivan Louis and Patricia Alice Jones Frye. She was a 1976 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. Cindy was a medical records clerk at Stormont-Vail Hospital for eight years, retiring in 2019. She had formerly worked in medical records at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, and also as a grocery clerk at Bill's IGA in Perry for many years. She was an active member and former Sunday school teacher at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry.
She was married to Robert Lee Rhoads on January 28, 1978 at Topeka, they were married 19 years and raised four children before divorcing in 1997.
Survivors include her mother, Patricia A. Frye, Perry, one son, Dallas Rhoads, Perry, three daughters, B.J. Fox, Atchison, Heather (Rick) Hamm, Carbondale, Ashley Rhoads, Perry, a sister, Vicki L. Sieve, Perry, a brother, Ivan L. "Butch" (Kathy) Frye, II, Perry, 16 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan L. Frye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, December 19, 2022 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry. Burial will be at Buster Cemetery, rural Perry. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 18, 2022 with Rosary Recitation at 3:30 PM at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
