Cynthia Travers Obituary

TRAVERS, Cynthia "Cynny" (Nichols) Of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away at her home, on August 19, 2025. Born on May 27, 1941 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Leo and Miriam Valiante, Cynthia was lovingly adopted as an infant by Edgar and Evelyn Nichols of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Raised there with her adoptive brother, Bruce Nichols (deceased), she graduated from Abbot Academy in Andover and went on to study at Connecticut College, before earning her degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Cynthia was the devoted mother of Allison Travers and Christopher (Caitlin) Travers; and the loving grandmother of Eli and Zoe Travers. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Travers. She is survived by her siblings, John (Maggie) Valiante, Leo (Susan) Valiante, Joan (Mark) Migliaccio and Marcia Valiante. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the FUEL Ministry program, which provides weekend meals to children reliant on supplemental food programs in Newton and Boston. Contributions may be sent to Church of the Redeemer, 379 Hammond Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467, noting "FUEL" in the memo line. A Celebration of Cynthia's Life will be held at the Church of the Redeemer, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 am.
