Cynthia Sue Wiersema

Cynthia Sue Wiersema, 68, of Fulton, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Cindy was born on May 20, 1953 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of John and Marjorie Mathew. She married James Wiersema on May 31, 1981 in Morrison. Cindy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, and was an animal lover. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, James "Ursal" Wiersema of Fulton; mother-in-law, Ruth (Mike) Foley of Clinton, IA; daughter, Jamie (Joe) Snyder; two sons, Joe (Tatum) Wiersema, and Andy (Alesha) Wiersema, three sisters-in-law, Kathy (Don) Montgomery, Marcia Vanderlinde, all of Fulton; and Cindy Wiersema of Lisbon, IA; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Bonny) Wiersema of Clinton, IA, and Russell (Karen) Wiersema of Fulton; four grandchildren, Rhett, Brantley, Mallori, and Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and one son, Jason Wiersema. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 13, 2021 at McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Ave, Fulton. Cremation rites will follow. Memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00am with Pastor Kevin VerHoeven officiating. Interment will conclude at Fulton Township Cemetery.
