Cynthia Yellowcloud

Cynthia Whitewater Yellowcloud, "Haja piga", 82, passed away at home on Friday, February 20, 2026.

She was born on October 28, 1943, to Fred Whitewater and Marie Big Hawk Whitewater in Black River Falls, WI.

Cynthia was united in marriage to Donald Lee Yellowcloud Sr. She worked for the Ho Chunk Nation in different positions throughout the years.

She collected numerous items and loved listening to Elvis. She loved playing Bingo, doing crosswords, beading, and watching Packer games. She liked spending time with all her family. She enjoyed driving around the countryside and reminiscing about the good ole days. She enjoyed playing computer games like Bejeweled and Solitaire. Pokeno was her jam.

She is preceded in death by husband, Donald Lee Yellowcloud Sr., significant others, John R. Mann and David F. Harrison, infant siblings, Carlisle, Clyde, and Mercedes Whitewater, adopted brother, Calvin Whitewater, infant son, Clayton Daniel Whitewater, son, Donald Lee Yellowcloud Jr., granddaughter, Laleen Marie Whitewater, and great-granddaughter, Caxsepconiwiga.

Cynthia is survived by her children, John L. Whitewater, Elaine M. Yellowcloud, Theodore F. Yellowcloud, Stacy A. (Donna) Yellowcloud, Russell J. Mann (Fonda Zimmerman), and Cyndi D. Mann, Manda Mann, Rosann Mann (Wilfrid Cleveland), Matthew (Jessie) Mann, 54 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren on the way.

The funeral service for Cynthia will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at her residence, N8995 Sandpillow Road, Black River Falls, WI 54615. Visitation will be held at her home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will continue in Winnebago United Church.
