Cynthia Yoder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory on Jul. 22, 2024.
Cynthia Brohawn Yoder passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Florida, after a short illness. Born in Cambridge, Maryland, Cynthia was known for her kind spirit and her commitment to nurturing others, both through her profession and her volunteer work.
A 1958 graduate of Cambridge High School, Cynthia went on to earn her degree from the University of Delaware in 1962, afterwards embarking on a rewarding career as a Registered Dietitian at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. She brought not only expertise to her role but also immense warmth and caring to the patients she served.
Cynthia's love for life did not end with her work. She was a skillful creator of jigsaw puzzles, a hobby that reflected her patience and attention to detail. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life, inspiring her to volunteer at Okeechobee First United Methodist Church, where her presence will be sorely missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, William and Kathleen Brohawn; husband, Earl Yoder; brother, Bill Brohawn, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jean Brohawn; and nephew, Steven Brohawn. Cynthia's memory will be cherished by her niece, Melanie Brohawn, as well as by the countless individuals whose lives she touched.

I met Cynthia about 7 years ago. She took me under her wing at the church. I always looked forward to seeing her when I came down for the winter. She always made me smile because of her smile. I will miss her very much. Denise Woody
