Obituary for Doris Naomi Moore
Doris Naomi Moore, age 93, of Brookville, Pennsylvania, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the
morning of November 28, 2025.
Naomi was born on July 22, 1932, to Edna Mae (Heeter) and William W. Brownlee. She grew up in a large and
loving family as one of eleven children, a blessing that shaped her love for fellowship, hard work, and deep family
bonds.
On December 21, 1956, Naomi married Glenis "Glen" C. Moore, with whom she shared a devoted and
Christ-centered marriage until his passing on June 19, 2012. Together they raised three sons who were the joy of
their life.
Naomi was known for her steadfast devotion to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ-the good news that Jesus,
being both fully man and fully God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, rose again to new life,
and offers eternal life to all who accept this free gift of salvation. Naomi dedicated her life to sharing this truth with
gentleness, clarity, and conviction.
In addition to her faithfulness as a mother and grandmother, Naomi was active in homeschooling several of her
grandchildren, investing deeply in their education and spiritual grounding. She also loved quilting, blessing many
with her handmade creations that reflected warmth, beauty, and care.
A cherished verse in Naomi's life was John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life."
Naomi's faith was part of a beautiful heritage passed down from her parents, and that legacy of accepting the
Gospel has now grown through multiple generations, reaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The
seeds planted decades ago continue to bear fruit, a testament to the faithfulness of God and to Naomi and Glen's
lifelong desire to see their family walk with Christ.
Naomi is also remembered fondly by her extended family, including her nine grandchildren, eighteen
great-grandchildren (plus one on the way!), one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews, as well as
friends who were touched by her kindness and unwavering faith. She is now dancing in heaven with her beloved
husband Glen, her parents, and her 10 siblings who have preceded her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at
1:00 p.m., at Shumaker Funeral Home,115 E Union St,
Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
Interment will take place immediately afterward.
The family invites all who knew Naomi to join in honoring her life, celebrating her legacy of faith, and rejoicing in
the eternal hope she so faithfully proclaimed.
