Betsy Ann Maruca, 58, of Anita, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, while at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh in the presence of her loving family members.
She was born in Punxsutawney on Oct. 5, 1967, a daughter of the late Caesar Ted Maruca and Diana (Kephart) Maruca.
Betsy was a woman of faith with a very generous and compassionate heart. She had formerly been a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Anita and was currently attending Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church. In high school, she was a member of the volleyball team and the Art Club. She earned a degree in fashion and design from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York. She was formerly employed by The Spirit, US Tobacco, Nabisco and Draft Heinz. She was currently employed as a merchandizer for the Mondelez Company, where she worked hard and consistently gave 100 percent above and beyond.
Betsy loved being with her family and relatives most. She would bless those around her daily with her selfless, kind-hearted actions and huge generosity. Giving was something she did very well, lavishing gifts on those she loved and especially spoiling her nieces and nephews.
She was always very concerned and ready to lend a helping hand with anything someone might need, which included running errands, visits to an aunt, bringing her frappes, aiding her sister after surgery, but especially helping care for her aging mother in her final days.
Betsy was awesome at making pies and cheesecake. She loved art, music, watching movies and playing cards with her family. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Christopher John (Karen) Maruca of the Virgin Islands, Susan Diana Enterline of Coolspring, Nancy Lee Maruca, Michael Caesar Maruca and Thomas Patrick Maruca, all of Anita and Elisa Rose (Jim) Bennett of Kersey; nieces and nephews Chad Maruca, Elizabeth (Ty) Kepler, Caesar (Emily) Maruca, Tyler (Nikki) Maruca and Rylee Enterline; great nieces and nephews, Taylor Maruca, Cassius Kepler and Bria Maruca; aunts and uncles, Arthur (Mary Lou) Kephart of Butler, Patricia Blose of Punxsutawney, Janet Stokes of Indiana, Sandra (Jeff) Hinderlinter of Punxsutawney and Victoria (John) Zachary of Richmond, Virginia; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles Mary "Mimi" Weaver and Elissa Barker, Michael Dennis Barker, Thomas Maruca Sr., Jane Anderson, Kay Lackey, Terri Garzoni, Eva Brown; and brother-in-law Robert Enterline.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no viewing.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.
Her ashes will be placed at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
