YOUNGSTOWN – D. Brett Rogers, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Mercy Health Hospital in Youngstown with his family by his side.

Brett was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on March 1, 1953, to the late Harold and Georgia (Myers) Rogers.

Brett graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1971. Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He served as a Control Systems Technician, earning numerous medals and awards during his nine years serving the country. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with one bronze oak leaf cluster. Brett was a very patriotic man and remained a proud veteran of his country for the rest of his life.

When Brett met Norma Nason Phillis, he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. They were married on October 25, 2004. Brett and Norma always cherished their time together. One of their favorite things to do together was to rent a beach house in Topsail, NC, or Surfside Beach, SC, and spend their days relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery. They also spent many exciting moments together at the Cleveland Air Shows.

Brett worked as an engineer at Innovar Systems in North Jackson. In his free time, he was a pilot and a jack-of-all-trades. There was never a problem too profound for Brett, he always found a solution to that problem. Brett was a food enthusiast, lobster being one of his favorite dishes. Those who knew and loved Brett also knew that he had quite a sweet tooth. But above all, he was a proud husband, father, and grandfather.

Brett leaves behind a loving wife, Norma Rogers; two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) Rogers and Bryan (Whitney) Rogers; a daughter, Brooke (Gary) Febinger; three step-sons, Christopher Phillis, Joushua Phillis, and Jeremy; and grandchildren, Jace, Olivia, Elias, Christian, Aubree, Brynn, Micah, Ethan, Katelyn, Madelyn, Breelen, Trevor, and Violet.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepdaughter, Melanie Phillis Cisine.
