Dagmar was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 6th 1928. She attended school, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School (Council Bluffs, IA), in 1946. Dagmar went on to attend college but met the love of her life in 1947 and gave up school to marry him.

Dagmar and Michael were married on July 11th 1948, at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Together, they were blessed with 6 children, 13 Grandchildren, and 20 Great- Grandchildren.

Michael and Dagmar moved their family from Omaha, Nebraska to Boise, Idaho in 1957. They were again relocated for Michael’s job to Denver, Colorado where they found their forever home and settled in 1969.

On October 29, 1972, Michael and Dagmar, along with 8 other members of the Holy Transfiguration of Christ Church, established a new Parish naming it St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Littleton, Colorado. The purpose of their mission was to create a church where English was primarily spoken so churchgoers and young children could better understand the faith. Dagmar sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. Michael and Dagmar attended and supported the Parish until it was no longer physically possible. Dagmar’s faith was strong, and she was still able to partake in communion and prayer for the remainder of her life, with the help of Father Serpahim Gisetti.

During her life, Dagmar loved reading, writing poetry, traveling, playing games with her family, spending time at her cabin in Fairplay Colorado, cooking, gardening, and visiting the casinos in Black Hawk, Colorado. She enjoyed writing poems for members of her family and was an encyclopedia of knowledge and always had the answers.

Dagmar will be remembered for her generosity, her humor, the amazing meals she made, and how much love she gave to all.
