Daisy Carol Baker, born on June 30, 1958, in small town of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 6 2024, at the Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Her life spanned over six decades filled with cherished memories, passion for family, and a love of exploration that left a lasting imprint on who knew her.
Daisy was known not only for her warmth and kindness but also for her adventurous spirit. She loved traveling with her family, always embracing new experiences and adventures together. Music played a significant role in her life, and she found great joy in live performances, inviting friends and family to share in those joyous moments. Her most treasured pursuits, however, revolved around her family; she was deeply involved in the lives of her beloved grandchildren, creating bonds that would endure through generations.
Daisy is survived by her son, Shawn Baker and his wife Jen, and her daughter, Mary Baker and her husband Ben. She leaves behind two brothers, Danny Baker and Terry Baker, and a sister, Wilma Shepherd. Daisy's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Shawnna Rose and Dylan, Dawson Baker, Taylor Joseph, Hunter Napier, and Destiny Chappell. She was also the adoring great-grandmother of Zoe Thompson, Lindsey Morgan, and Brantlee Morgan. A host of nieces and nephews, special Uncle, Lucian Coots, along with many other relatives and friends, also survive her.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Baker and Beatrice Coots Baker; the father of her children, Wade Baker; her husband, Bobby Dean Combs; as well as her sister, Loretta Day, and brothers, Dale Baker and Otis Coots.
Throughout her life, Daisy Carol Baker touched many hearts with her love, resilience, and unwavering spirit. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral: Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY
Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis
Interment: Coots-Baker Family Cemetery, Smilax, KY
Pallbearers: Shawn Baker, Ben Turner, Dawson Baker, Terry Baker and Danny Baker
Visitation: Sat. Oct. 12th at 12:00 Noon until time for funeral at 1:00 all at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home
