Daisylee was born on April 7th 1939 in Marblehead, Massachusetts to Frances Jane (Bonnie) and William (Bill) Ambrose Barber. She was the first of their 5 girls. Bill packed up his growing family in 1949 to come to California where he settled in the border town of San Ysidro. In this then sleepy little town, they raised horses and had many assorted animals.
Daisy originally met Carl when she was 12 years old while attending the Kingdom Hall, where both families were devoted Jehovah's Witnesses. They were married 5 years later on her birthday, as her father stipulated that she be 17. Together they have one daughter, Deborah Jane and were married 69 years.
With a passion for makeup and fashion, Daisy loved getting dressed up and going shopping. She was always on the lookout for a great deal. She enjoyed writing beautiful poetry and painting. Daisy and Carl enjoyed many cruises together with friends and family. Together they were dedicated to serving Jehovah.
Daisylee leaves behind her husband Carl Childs, daughter Deborah Jane, granddaughter Deborah Lynette with her husband Matthew Fuhrmann, and great grandson Joshua James Fuhrmann. Additionally her sisters Virginia Lee Whitacre, Barbara Ann Triplett, Linda Lou Boozer and an abundance of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Francis Jane (Bonnie) and William (Bill) Ambrose Barber, and sister Loretta Jane Rodenburg.
