Dale E. Bettcher, age 79, of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away October 14, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be held from 1-3:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Dell Rapids with private immediate family service to follow.
Dale was born on January 23, 1946, in Bridgewater, SD, to John and Margaret (Dahlman) Bettcher. He attended school in Bridgewater and later lived in Colton, Dell Rapids, and Colman. Dale married Darla Haugse July 11, 1969 in Colton, SD. Dale spent many years working at T&R Electric, T&R Service, and later with Dressen Custom Trailers.
Dale cherished time in the garden and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Darla of Dell Rapids; their children: Mike (Telene) Bettcher of Oshkosh, WI, and daughters, Brecca and Brinley; Michelle (Damon) Bishop of Sioux Falls, SD, and daughter, Mercedes; and Matt (Annie) Bettcher of Hartford, SD, and sons, Peyton and Dylan; and two great-grandchildren, Brenna and Harper. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Sharon) Bettcher of Sioux Falls, SD, and his sister, Sharon (Jim) Anderson of Mandan, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Allen and Merle; and two sisters, Darlene and Shirley.
