Celebrating the Life and Memory of Dale Dennis Dedic, age 85 of Potter, NE who passed away surrounded by his loved ones in the Morrill County Community Hospital on Sunday, January 04, 2026. Cremation has taken place and memorial services are planned for May of 2026. Burial will follow at the Potter Community Cemetery. More details will be published when available. In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions to the Potter Community Hall, Potter Historical Foundation, or the Potter Museum.

Dale was the son of Rudolph "Rudy" and Wilma Alice Slama. He was born on October 27, 1940 in Sidney, NE. He attended and graduated from Potter Schools in 1958 and then went on to attend Wesleyan University. In 1962 he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Hollister DD788 where he was an ET2 E5 from 1962 to 1966 and then honorably discharged.

In 1975 Dale married the love of his life, Lyllian Marion Tracy and had the pleasure of adding Lyl's two daughters to his life. In 1978 they moved to Tucson, AZ with IBM, they lived there for fifteen years. Dale and Lyl moved back to his home town of Potter in 1993, where he was involved in many community projects and volunteerism. He received the Jay Stecher award in community service. Dale was DEDIC…ated to his family, community, and friends, he was a member of the Masons, Lions Club, Potter Community Improvement and committee, and American Legion.

Dale and Lyl raised "The Gem of the Fancy" Netherland Dwarf Rabbits. They attended many local and National Shows in the United States and Canada making memories and meeting new friends along the way. Together they also owned the Chestnut Memory Station for many many years.

He was an avid hunter and always looked forward to his adventurous with his amazing friends. His steadfast love, strength and presence will be greatly missed.

Dale is survived by his wife Lyllian, son Trent and wife Tammie, daughters Angela and husband Mike, Shannon and husband Anthony, Tiffany and husband Wayne, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Wilma, and his brother Daryl.
