Dale Drake
PRESQUE ISLE: Dale G. Drake 81, passed away unexpectedly November 28, 2022 as a result car accident in Westfield. He was born December 29, 1940 in Presque Isle, the son of Donald O. and Bernice (Archer) Drake. Dale was 8 years old when he went to live with Alice, Edward, and Nadine Wood in Castle Hill. He joined and served in the US Navy. Dale worked a boiler operator at Loring AFB and Potato Service Inc. in Presque Isle, and then as a meat cutter for 25 years at Hannaford in New Hampshire. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed bird hunting. Dale is survived by his wife Nancy (Bernier) Drake of Presque Isle, two daughters and their husbands; Loretta and Todd Winslow of Mapleton, Katrina and Michael Williams of Beaconsfield, NB. Canada, step children; Claire Gagnon of Bangor, and Ronald Gagnon Jr. of Harelock, NC. many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring 2023 at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home and Cremation Service. To all the family especially Nancy, Loretta and Todd our utmost condolences. Dale was a very special guy. Last time we saw him was at voting booth, when I went and got his car so he wouldn´t have to walk across parking lot. Will miss seeing him at McD and Riverside.
