Dale Reid Hamrick, 70, died Monday, November 11, 2024, in his home where he was cared for by family.
Mr. Hamrick was born in Hampton, Virginia, on March 3, 1954, and was the son of the late Robert Hamrick and Grace Scoggins Hamrick Croswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Hamrick Patterson; and by his brothers, Gene, David, and Dallas Hamrick.
A retired lineman with Verizon, he was a member of Open Door Church and of HOG (Harley Owners Group). Throughout his life he had an abundance of pets and cherished each and every one.
Surviving is his wife, Angel Collins Broome; two daughters, Karla Jean Hamrick of Newport News, VA and Meredith Broome Ross (Mike) of Grimesland; a son, Miles Delane Hamrick of Hampton; a sister, Mary Hope Hall (Jay) of Oak City; and three grandchildren, Ethan Hamrick (Emily), Landon Hamrick, and Ava Kilcoyne; and other extended members of the Hamrick and Collins families.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16th, at 2:00 p.m. in Open Door Church and will be conducted by Pastor Steve Mizell. Friends may visit with the family in the church lobby immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
