Dale R. Hoffman

Dale R. Hoffman, 90 of Grand Island died Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Westfield Care Center in Aurora.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 3 in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the US Army and United Veterans Honor Guard. Casual, Husker or Minnesota Vikings attire is requested. The family will be greeting friends an hour before service time. Memorials are suggested to the family to be determined later.
Dale was born on April 29, 1933 in Mooreton, ND the son of Ralph and Lillian (Raftebold) Hoffman. He graduated from Wahpeton, ND High School in 1951. Dale proudly served for 6 years in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he settled in Grand Island. He worked for Northwestern Public Service, retiring following 32 years of service.
Dale married Sandra Wyman in 1964. This union was blessed with children Scott, Jeff and Deborah. Later he married Betsy (Niehaus) Ball in 1993. Dale received three bonus daughters, Shelley, Deedee and Tami.
Dale loved working in his shop at his home on East Lost Lake near Underwood, MN, where they lived for 23 years. You could find him tinkering, smoking his pipe and drinking a cheap beer. Some of his enjoyments included woodworking, fishing, leather work, mowing his big yard, feeding and watching the deer and watching Vikings and Husker football.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Betsy; children, Scott (Shani) Hoffman of Minden, Jeff (Cherise) Hoffman of Clarksville, GA, Deborah Hoffman of Kearney, Shelley (Tom Rowe) Wheeler of Doniphan, Deedee (Pat Schaben) Antle of Phillips and Tami (Mark) Hedges of Caney, KS; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his siblings, Jeanne (Don) Hennen of Verges, MN, Janet Rosen of Perham, MN, Marilyn Anderson of Wahpeton, ND, Linda Blanchett of Kearney, NE and Louis Hoffman of Wahpeton, ND and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Erhardt Rosen, Arden Anderson and George Blanchett.
