Dale E. Jacobs, 67, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. Born on November 3, 1958, in Niles, Ohio, Dale lived a life full of passion, humor, and joy that touched the hearts of all who knew him, whether he realized it or not. Dale graduated from Canton Lincoln High School as part of the class of 1976. His quick wit and sharp mind lent itself to being a formidable trivia expert, and a veritable well of obscure knowledge. He would be able to tell stories behind songs, movies, and TV shows of almost anything that he'd be watching or listening to. To observe while he was watching Jeopardy was always amusing as he'd perform better that the contestants themselves. A man of many talents and interests, Dale found joy in fishing, singing, movies, music, and making people laugh. He was known for his remarkable voice, which graced both theater stages and church choirs. Those fortunate enough to share a car ride with him were often treated to impromptu performances that showcased his love for music. His church family held a special place in his heart; he delighted in cooking for them and sharing his gift of song during services. Dale's sense of humor was legendary. He had an uncanny ability to lighten any moment with a joke-often inappropriate-delivered at just the most inopportune of times. His disarming smile and mischievous smirk could brighten anyone's day. Beyond his humor, Dale was deeply compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand when it was within his power. An avid Cleveland Indians fan, Dale enjoyed cheering on (or being upset with) his team and spending time outdoors fishing whenever he could. His love for life extended to the simple pleasures: good food, great company, and moments shared with loved ones. To those that were lucky enough to enjoy his cooking, he basked in making people happy through food. A chef for most of his life, he brought his culinary expertise to any that would have it. Whether as a head chef, or just cooking for his church, he loved making people happy. Dale is survived by his sons Jonathan Jacobs and Maxwell Jacobs; his sister Sue Cody (Jacobs); his brother Marc Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish their memories of him. He was predeceased by his parents Carolyn Jacobs (Jones) and Wendell Jacobs; his brothers Jack Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, and Tim Jacobs; and his sister Carol Cotrill (Jacobs). Dale's legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and an unwavering zest for life. May those who knew him find comfort in their memories of his infectious humor and generous spirit. While many of us may have lost touch with him in his later years, he will be missed tremendously. A Celebration of Life party will be announced at a later date. There will be no services.
