JOHNSON, Dale Wayne - age 76 of Lake Fenton, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey officiating. Dale was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1948 to Harry Wayne and Dolores Elaine Johnson, Jr. Beloved husband of Laura for 52 years; loving father of Kelly (Nathan) Thomas and Christopher (Kim) Johnson; grandfather of Brayden and Ryleigh Thomas, Sam and Eliza Belbeck; brother of Marjorie Jean McBride, Kathy Johnson, Keith (Mary) Johnson, Timothy (Robin) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Linda Johnson and Kevin Johnson. He had many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved as well. He moved to Michigan at a young age and attended Heintzen Elementary, Schaefer Junior High and High School in Southgate, Michigan. Dale attended Eastern Michigan University where he met Laura. He was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity. Dale went in to the Air Force in 1970, just shy of completing his education. He was in Biloxi, Mississippi for basic training as well as Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for Tech School. He was in security services as a morse code interceptor and was stationed in Darmstadt and Augsburg, Germany. In 1972, while on leave, Dale and Laura married and then resided in Germany until his tour of duty was completed. He went on to complete his BS degree in Art at Eastern Michigan University in 1974. Dale was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Highland, Michigan for 35 years. Along with that, he was an extraordinary guitarist, a ski coach for Hartland Schools, had a second degree in black belt in karate as well as being an instructor in the sport. Later in life he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and enjoyed participating in yoga and rock steady boxing.
