Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton ChapelEleanor Bertha (Murphy) Chaney, 93, of Fenton, Mi passed away peacefully February 28th, at Fenton Healthcare while surrounded by her family. Eleanor, aka the nosewarmer lady/grandma, was born in Davison, Mi. She deeply loved her parents Lena and John Murphy and siblings (Vern, Delores, Carm, Kenny, and Helen), who she joins in heaven with her sons (Michael & Joseph). Eleanor graduated from Grand Blanc where she was voted “Most Athletic”. She married Harold Chaney in 1951 and was the beloved mother of Carol, Michael, Joe, Linda Forster, and Christina (Joe) Bujak. After divorcing in 1970 she often worked three or more jobs simultaneously to make ends meet, but her favorite was driving school bus for both Davison & Grand Blanc Schools where she delighted in crocheting nosewarmers for more than 35 years to give away. Her signature creation was featured on The Tonight Show when worn by Phyllis Diller. Her hobbies included crocheting, painting, and winning at cards & bingo. Eleanor leaves behind a legacy of hard work & selfless dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by her surviving children Carol, Linda, Christina (Joe), grandchildren Robert Bell, Markie Lee (Matt Dutcher), Mack Lee (Nicole), Joseph Bujak II, Chelsea Bujak, Zachary Bujak and great grandchildren Logan, Hannah, Pace, & Cameron. A funeral mass will be held March 20th at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Fenton Mi.
