Dale Kordes Obituary

Father, Grandfather and Husband, Dale A. Kordes of Perry, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday September 3, 2023, after reaching the age of 75 years old with his beloved wife of over 52 years, Giulia Kordes by his side. Dale was born on March 8, 1948, in Euclid, Ohio before eventually moving to neighboring Perry in the early 1990s. After graduating from North High School in 1966, Dale went into the Army which led him to Italy. This is where he met the love of his life and married Giulia on December 27, 1970. They lived together in Northeast Ohio for over 52 years. He worked as an engineer and was known for his work ethic and array of knowledge. He was also an amateur writer having authored a series of poems, screenplays and a book. Dale was always busy caring for his family. You could find him working in Giulia's garden, feeding his birds, and woodworking in the garage. He loved a good laugh and sharing wise, witty and clever humor or even interesting baseball stories or statistics with others. He also enjoyed spending time reading and learning about things like mathematics, astronomy and linguistics. He learned Italian and dabbled with other languages but especially enjoyed science and history. Oftentimes you would find Dale enjoying a cup of black coffee in his recliner with his favorite book open before his infamous afternoon nap. This learning and reading led him to learn and come to know about Jehovah God. He dedicated his life along with Giulia in July 1975 at the Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Cleveland Municipal Stadium. He faithfully believed in the Bible's resurrection hope and spent his life volunteering at the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He regularly taught others about Jehovah, God's Kingdom and the future blessings that await Dale, his family and all of mankind. Dale was a beloved member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses since his baptism in 1975. He served for a large majority of his time as an elder and bible teacher supporting his wife as a Full Time Pioneer. His greatest love and joy was that his entire family are faithful servants of Jehovah following his example of loyal service to God. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anne Kordes; his brother, Alan Kordes, his sister Lorraine Kordes. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Giulia; three daughters, Andreina (Russell) Dutsch, Natasha (Jonathan) Horton, and Galadriel "Sally" (Matt) Flanagan; two grandchildren, Samantha (Kurtis) Weingart and Tyler Horton; his brothers Frank and Clayton Kordes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7320 Middle Ridge Road, in Madison, Ohio with a reception will follow to visit with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., Attn: Accounting, 900 Red Mills Road, Walkhill, NY 12589-5200. Special thank you to all the family and friends for their concern, support and love during this time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Madison, Painesville, Fairport Harbor & Chardon. Obituary, online condolences and memorial gifts available at www.marcfburrfuneralhome.com.

Dale and I worked together at Nupro Company back in early 80´s. Dale was a very funny man but so genuine and kind. We had a lot of fun working together and I´m truly so sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. May peace be with you!
