Dale Lobley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home - Wichita Falls on Sep. 3, 2025.
Dale Lobley, 98, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Edgemere Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Ken Holsberry officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Dale was born July 4, 1927, in House, New Mexico to Claud Martin and Mary Evelyn (Dobbins) Martin. She graduated from Fort Sumner High School in Fort Sumner, New Mexico in 1946. Soon after graduating, she married the love of her life, Harold Lobley, on July 19, 1946. She was a devoted and loving wife to Harold for 63 1/2 years, until his passing in 2010. She spent the next 15 1/2 years eagerly waiting for the day they would be reunited.

She was also a loving mother to three sons, Ken, Phil, and Lynn, all who preceded her in death.

Dale will forever be remembered for her incredible talents in baking, sewing, gardening, but, most of all, for her amazing gift of hospitality. She has always been known for welcoming people into her home for a delicious meal, and anyone who stepped foot in her home could attest to the fact that she made you feel right at home. You may have entered her home a stranger, but you walked out a friend (and most likely a part of her extended family).

In her later years, the nurses and aides that took care of her often looked at her as one of their own mothers or grandmothers. She truly loved to have people around her, and greeted everyone who came into her room as if they were her guest.

Dale is survived by her grandchildren Rachel and Ryon Smith, Sarah Lobley and Brandon Edington; her great-grandsons Bryce Smith, Kellan and Bodhi Simonton, and Collin Edington; a brother-in-law, Stanley Lobley and wife Betty, a sister-in-law, Kitty Lobley, as well as many nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Ryon Smith, Brandon Edington, Tackle Guile, Clay Lobley, Kyle Lobley, and Ray Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Smith, Kellan and Bodhi Simonton, and Collin Edington.

Dale's family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses, and entire staff at Hospice of Wichita Falls and at Perkins-Prothro Health Care Center for the exceptional support and care throughout her final chapter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Presbyterian Manor or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
