Dale F. McCaffery age 78 died on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his home. He was born on February 17, 1948 in Columbus to Francis and Mildred (Kasmiski) McCaffery. Dale was married to Marlene Kirchberg on June 6, 1970 and together raised three children. Dale was a lifelong Town of Elba area dairy farmer. In later years he was employed at Lyco Manufacturing and Mid-State Equipment in Columbus.
In retirement, he enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting activities and helping friends with numerous projects.
Survivors include his wife Marlene of Fall River; two daughters Brenda (T.J.) Adam of Fall River and Gina McCaffery of Matthews NC; one son Mike (Kate) McCaffery of Rio; seven grandchildren Sabrina (Zac) Chandre, Julia Kjelland, Ayden Adam, Carter Kjelland, Rhyann Adam, Kassidy and Kyla McCaffery; one great-grandson Cade Chandre; a sister Joann (Don) Weidemann of Columbus; two brothers Jim (Paula Miller) McCaffery and Don (Robin) McCaffery both of Columbus; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, John Carl.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at a later date.
