Dale Allen Moutray, 87, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024 at his home at the Court at Eden Vista.
Dale was born on July 16, 1936 to Arthur and Caroline (Hankes) Moutray at Plano, IL. Dale went to school until quitting to help on the family farm. He worked on the family farm until he served in the United States Army. Shortly after being honorably discharged, he met his wife, Bernice Mlejnek, in Illinois and they were married on May 5, 1962. They moved to central Minnesota where they raised their two daughters, Georgeanne and Valerie. Eventually they moved to Green Bay, WI and lived on a hobby farm. Dale continued working in manufacturing until his retirement in 2009.
Dale's favorite season was football season, especially watching the Green Bay Packers. He loved to garden, watch westerns and the Food Network Channel. He enjoyed participating in activities at the facility, including Bingo. One of his happiest memories was his last visit in Illinois, the summer of 2023, where he spent time with his brother and family visiting their old farms and special places.
He will be forever missed.
Dale is survived by his loving daughter, Georgeanne (Daniel) Henkel; brother, Gerald Moutray; nephews: Randy Moutray and his son and Jeffrey (Marcia) Newkirk and their sons; and niece, Cynthia (Herbie Kaiser) Littlejohn and her son.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Valerie; his parents; and sister, Rosemary.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay. A visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lakeland Care and to the staff at Eden Vista for the love and care they gave to Dad. They also would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for all their help during this difficult time.
