Rev Dale A. Ras, 93 of Hickman, Nebraska and formerly of Marion, South Dakota, passed away March 10, 2024.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Bethesda Church in Marion, South Dakota. Burial to follow at Tieszen Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
Dale was born on February 5, 1931 in Robinsdale, Minnesota to John and Elizabeth (Schouten) Ras. He served in the Navy and was on the USS Kearsarge. Dale graduated from Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then was a missionary in Alaska for 20 years. He then served churches in Duluth, Minnesota; Orchard, Nebraska and Bonesteel, South Dakota before retiring to Marion where he continued to fill in as a pastor in churches in the surrounding communities. He was a pilot, enjoyed fishing and collecting stamps, but his first love was teaching God’s word.Dale is survived by his daughter Debra (husband Larry) Crippen of Hickman, Nebraska and grandson Caleb Crippen of Lincoln, Nebraska and sister Harriet Carlson of Willmar, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leila, son Paul Ras, grandson Justin Crippen, brothers-in-law Virgil Clark and Leslie Carlson. Father and mother-in-law Bernhardt and Katheryn Ewert. Brothers and sisters-in-law Edith Ewert, Herbert and Ruth Becker and Irvin and Vernelle Ewert.
