It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Ann Simon, born on November 29, 1953, in Lake Charles, LA, who left us on September 20, 2025. Dale, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished sister, made her home in Hayes, LA, where she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Dale was not just a homemaker but a true artist in the kitchen. She brought joy to countless family gatherings with her incredible cooking, particularly her famous gumbo that everyone adored. Her passion for sewing and her knack for making a house feel like a home made her a beloved figure among family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Luther Simon; her sons, Danny Ray Simon (Patty) and Jamey Jay Simon; her daughter, Mary Simon-Smith (Ovey); her brother, Bradley Hebert (Diana); her sister, Betty Richard (Andrew); six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Dale leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories.
Funeral services will be held at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM, Rev. Roland Vaughn, celebrant. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday in the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday in the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
Dale will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched. We invite everyone who knew her to join us in remembering her life and celebrating the beautiful person she was.
Dale was preceded in death by her parents, Alie Hebert and Lula Hebert, her son, Calvin Simon, and her brother, Emery Hebert
