Dale Robin Spannagel, a devoted son, brother, and friend, passed away leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship. Born on June 27, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas, to Billy Wayne and Ersel Lou Jones Spannagel, Dale grew up with a passion for mechanics and aviation that shaped his life’s journey.

A 1984 graduate of Judson High School, Dale excelled in industrial arts, earning numerous awards and receiving the Texas Association of Private Schools scholarship. His love for aviation led him to Hallmark Institute of Technology, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and certification as an aviation technician in 1985.

Dale began his career at Braniff Aviation Services (Dalfort) in 1986, quickly rising to lead mechanic. His expertise and commitment to excellence led him to American Airlines, where he worked for 35 years at maintenance hubs in Tulsa, Alliance Airport, and DFW International Airport—first as a mechanic and later as an inspector.

Outside of work, Dale found joy in the skies, flying his single-engine Cessna. His passion for motorcycles was evident in the many styles he owned and rode over the years. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything mechanical, Dale was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, also at Lucas Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Texas where Dale will be laid to rest next to his aunt Mersel Sue Jones.

Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
