Dale L. Wiklund, age 85, passed away at the Teton Healthcare of Cascadia facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on December 7, 2024.
Dale was born August 12, 1939, on the family farm in Firth, Idaho, to Elmer Joseph Wiklund and Carrie Adeline Casper Wiklund. He spent nearly all of his 85 years on the farm that had been in the Wiklund family name since 1895.
He attended school in Firth, electing to leave early to pursue his love of farming. He worked several years for Darrell Cook, and later ventured out on his own, farming acreage west of Roberts, Idaho.
He returned to the family farm in Firth in 1972 where he lived until shortly prior to his death.
His life work centered around farming, truck driving and custom harvesting.
He was a long-time member of the Firth Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, where he served as a board member for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Sue Mallory Wiklund; daughters Dorraine (Dale) Burt of Idaho Falls; Yvonne (Randall) Nowland of American Falls; and Sherree Hammer of Rexburg; and son Scott (Heather) Wiklund of Firth. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Xiao Qin Wiklund of Idaho Falls; sister Marilyn Modine of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Alice Mallory; son Lynn Wiklund; brother Jimmie Wiklund; sisters Dorothie Ockerman and June Elder; son-in-law Rev. Donald Hammer; 1 grandson; 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson; and 3 great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Firth Tabernacle Assembly of God Church (235 West Center Street) in Firth. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
