Dalene Elizabeth Hatmaker, 90 of Macclenny, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born in Mocksville, North Carolina on November 15, 1935 to Robert and Daphne (Stroud) Safret.
She spent time throughout her life in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Rockledge, Florida, and the last ten years in Baker County. She worked for the Brevard County Sheriff’s office for many years, reach the rank of Sergeant of communications. Dalene enjoyed gardening and yard work in her free time and was very active as a volunteer in Brevard County, donating her time and energy to serving others. Dalene was an outgoing, adventurous soul and she even sky dived at the age of 85.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children Charles “Mike” Bruce of Macclenny and Robin Renee Harris of Farragut, Tennessee; grandson, Steven Fitzgerald; and her husband, Paul Hatmaker of Oliver Springs, Tennessee.
Final memorialization will be by cremation.
