Dallas Henry Triebenbach, a beloved member of the Osakis community, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 16, 1938, in Long Prairie, MN, Dallas dedicated both his life and career to service, family, and his passions.

Dallas's professional journey was defined by his long-standing commitment to others. For over 20 years, he served as a volunteer firefighter, embodying bravery and dedication. Alongside this, he worked as a flag man at Viking Speedways in the early 1970s for two years, showcasing his love for speed and community events. Dallas was proud to be the owner and operator of Dal's 66 gas station and mechanic shop for more than 30 years, where he not only provided essential services to his customers but also established lasting relationships within the community. In addition, Dallas operated a towing service out of his station, exemplifying his willingness to assist countless individuals in all types of weather, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

His affection for children and his love for service extended into his role as a school bus driver for Osakis Public School, a position he held for over 19 years. He cherished every moment spent with his riders, ensuring their safe passage to school each day.

A graduate of Osakis Public School in 1956, Dallas was an all-around athlete, participating in football, basketball, track, and baseball during his high school years. He continued to nurture his passion for sports, playing “town ball” long after graduation. His love for the community was further demonstrated through his involvement as one of the original members of the Central Lakes Car Club in Osakis.

Beyond his professional life, Dallas was known for his multifaceted hobbies and interests. A model train enthusiast and a master builder of classic cars, he delighted in modifying and creating, winning numerous awards at car shows throughout Minnesota. He enjoyed camping and motorcycling, with memorable trips in the Alma, WI area, and was adventurous enough to motorcycle through all 49 states of North America and Canada.

Dallas’s creativity flourished as he wrote a book of poetry and pursued photography, capturing moments across various travels on slides. His passion for vehicles extended to testing their performance and ensuring that his classic cars had sound-enhancing exhaust systems (for safety of course).

Dallas married Wilma Mary Ritchie at Osakis Lutheran Church on February 4, 1961, and together they raised a family that became his pride and joy. He is survived by his children Kelly Smith (Dennis) of Evansville, MN, Karl Triebenbach (Gina), their children Stella and Finn of Minneapolis, MN, and Kurt Triebenbach (Erica), their son Alex of Lakeville, MN. sister, Delores Olson; and niece Tracy Rosenow (Mark and Skyler); He leaves behind granddaughter Rebecca Plieseis (Matthew) and great grandson Dallas of White Bear Lake, MN, along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Dallas will be honored at the Central Lakes Car Show on July 11, 2026, in Osakis, MN, celebrating his contributions and legacy. The family will hold a private gathering at another time to remember and cherish his life.

Dallas Henry Triebenbach's legacy of service, love for his community, and dedication to family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He lived a life rich in experience and joy, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path.
