Dallas Michael Vaughn, 16, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on February 14, 2024. Born on September 20, 2007, in Marshall, Missouri, Dallas was a beloved son of Lisa Vaughn of Carrollton, MO, Justin Vaughn of Sebring, FL, and Jon Sarda of Oregon.
He attended the Wakenda Baptist Church, Carrollton Exciting Assembly of God, and Carrollton Church of the Nazarene.
Dallas was known for his outgoing and country-loving personality. From his trips to local creeks and streams to sitting back on the bank and dropping in a fishing line. To magnet fishing off a country road bridge. To his favorite outdoor activity, he loved to get a group of his friends together and go camping no matter how hot or cold it was.
Dallas had a great love for God and his country. Dallas' religious faith was very important to him, it gave him comfort throughout his life. Being himself through his faith he brought so many people together. The people who knew Dallas knew his strong love for the cross, with his favorite verse being John 14:27 Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Dallas was passionate about sports, from little league ball to Carrollton School sports, where he had been an active member of the wrestling team, and football team. He was also a member of Carrollton FFA, where his love for the family's two horses grew.
In his free time, Dallas found joy in working on his beloved truck. You could hear his truck several blocks away. During his night fishing and camping trips, you would find him and his friends sleeping in the same beloved truck. If you could not find him working on his truck, you would find him walking around Carrollton with family and friends, because that same beloved truck was broken down.
He is survived by his parents, Lisa Vaughn and Justin Vaughn and stepfather, Jon Sarda; sister, Allison Vaughn and brother, Whyatt Vaughn, Conner, and Luke Sarda; grandparents Bobby and Edyth Huffmon, Joey and Carolyn Cason, and Tammy Lewis; step grandparent, Kimberly Sarda; great grandparent, Edith Huffmon, Dwight and Evelyn Bayd, and June Knapp.
Dallas is preceded in death by his cousin, Jagger White; grandparents, Donna Huffmon, and Jim Lewis; great grandparents, Bill and Gwen Brotherton, Robert and Marie Hamblen, Clifford Huffmon, Marcella Jenkins, and Charles B. Knapp; several aunts and uncles; and beloved friends.
Dallas will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00p, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Bittiker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30pm, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Bittiker Funeral Home. The burial will be at Little Adkins- Brotherton Cemetery, Carrollton, Mo.
For those who would like to make a memorial contribution, the family respectfully requests they be made to the Dallas Vaughn Benefit Fund at Carroll County Trust Co., Carrollton, Mo. They can be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 223, Carrollton, MO 64633.
