Henry Nathan Lindley, age 91, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born the son of Heiney Nathan and Estelle Gertrude (Edgar) Lindley on January 31, 1934 on the family farm in Norborne, Missouri. He married Joline Johnston on June 27, 1953 in Dockery, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Henry was a 1951 graduate of Richmond High School and attended University of Missouri Columbia for two years. He worked for Kansas City Life as an insurance agent for over 10 years before returning to the family farm to fulfill his dream of farming. He farmed and raised cattle for many years. After retirement, Henry and Joline took great pleasure in traveling from coast to coast and border to border. Henry enjoyed hunting whitetail deer on his land in Norborne and Millville. He loved to go elk hunting in the mountains of Colorado and Montana. Fishing was another passion of his, rather it was at the ponds he dug himself, Truman Lake or at his favorite lakes in Texas and North Dakota. Henry found pleasure in sharing his love of nature with his grandchildren by taking them for rides on his fourwheeler around the family farm. Family and friends loved hearing him tell stories of his experiences while farming and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Joline Lindley, a son, Daniel Nathan Lindley and wife Rebecca Ann of Norborne, a sister, Bessie Rose Kelly, Richmond, Missouri, six grandchildren, Noelle Deanne Heiden (Timothy), Danika Rachelle Linville (Brice), Megan Diane Lindley, Hunter Nathan Lindley, Joshua Nathan Lindley, Caleb Nathan Lindley; four great-grandchildren, Cody Cullen Wunder, Natalia Brynn Heiden, Lidia Joy Linville, and Clara Jane Linville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Lee Whitmer, a son, Dwight Eric Lindley, a granddaughter, Lindley Joy Matthews, a son-in-law, Tony Whitmer, a sister, Dorothy Skinner, brothers-in-law, Dwight Skinner and Donald Kelly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri.
