Dalton Distad Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Benson & Langehough Funeral Home & Cremation on Feb. 20, 2024.
Dalton J. Distad, age 24, passed away on Monday, February 19th at his home in Northfield. Dalton was born in Northfield on January 15, 2000, the son of Jeff and Michelle Distad.
Dalton was a lovable, energetic individual who brought joy to everyone he encountered. What he couldn't say in words he would say with a smile, a twinkle in the eye, or a tug on your hand or wrist. For those who knew him best, the boy could run. He loved to spend time with his two older brothers "playing" video games, watching them play hockey, bouncing on the trampoline, or just hanging out. He relished his time on long bike rides with his mom; sometimes he pedaled and sometimes he didn't. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Minnesota Wild with his dad. Dalton was happiest while taking long trips in the car to places like Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, New Mexico, California, Phoenix, San Diego, Vancouver, Jackson Hole, and various National Parks along the way. When he brought you his shoes it meant you were going for a ride, usually to a local park followed by a stop for an ice cream treat. He loved to bask in the sun in the front of a pontoon on any lake, but Big Sandy, South Turtle, and Popple were his favorites. When Dalton chose to relax it usually included a Disney movie in one hand and Johnny Cash music playing in the background. It was clear that Dalton lived with a guiding principle that a nap(s) was not only allowed, but a daily requirement. Boy could he nap.
Dalton will always be remembered by his parents, Jeff and Michelle; siblings, Tyler (Lea) Distad and Hunter Distad; niece & nephew, Isabella and Benjamin; aunts & uncles, Guy (Sarah) Distad, Berwyn Martinson, Melissa Martinson, Guy (Bonnie) Martinson, and Marge Martinson.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Dalton's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 25 at the Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home of Northfield. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
