North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Dalton Ridgeway "Mac" McKie, Jr., 88, who entered into rest November 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family, will be conducted Saturday morning, November 29, 2025, at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Dr. Harold Herd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

He was born to the late Dalton R. McKie, Sr. and Florence (Henderson) McKie. Mac lived a life of service, faith, and hard work. He served in the United States Naval Reserve for seven years, an experience that shaped his strength and character. His devotion to Christ was steadfast, and he served Pine Grove Baptist Church as a deacon, music director, sound technician, and committee member. His willingness to serve extended to every church he was a part of. Mac was an amateur pilot and loved to fly. He also had a love of racing go-carts with his dad, that led him to racing funny cars where he held records at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, South Carolina. Mac was a talented mechanic who began his extensive career at Roberts Motor Company. He later spent 35 years as Lead Mechanic at the United States Postal Service in Augusta where he retired from in 2010.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Robert McKie; brother, John Lewis McKie; nephew, John Lewis McKie, Jr.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Grace S. McKie; son, Brian McKie (Hilary) of Michigan; daughters, Deborah Claxton and Angela Keller, both of North Augusta; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 250 Merriweather Drive, Graniteville, SC 29829 or The Parkinson's Foundation, www.parkinson.org
